Let The Balloon Go is a 1976 Australian children's film starring Ray Barrett, Bruce Spence and John Ewart. The storyline of the film was as such - While his brother is fighting in WWI, a small independent Australian boy who lives in the countryside with his overbearing mother and pet dog, decides to overcome his handicap of polio no matter what. The film was nominated for two AFI (Australia’s Oscars) awards and sold widely overseas including to the United States.
