It starred Chevy Chase (Fletch), Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Michael O'Keefe and Bill Murray (Ghostbusters). Caddyshack was Ramis's directorial debut and boosted the career of Dangerfield, who was previously known mostly for his stand-up comedy. Golf scenes were filmed at the Rolling Hills Golf Club (now the Grande Oaks Golf Club) in Davie, Florida. The production became infamous for the large amount of drug usage which occurred on-set, with supporting actor Peter Berkrot describing cocaine as "the fuel that kept the film running. Grossing nearly $40 million at the domestic box office. The film has a cult following and is in some quarters considered to be the funniest sports movie ever made.
